Just a reminder of our next meeting at Longlands Farm History Room 7pm Tuesday 4th September.

Colin Vosper will be talking to us about “Maritime Shortcuts - Canals of the West Country”.
Colin has had a life-long career in education, latterly as a further education lecturer at South Devon College.   Colin is now a regular lecturer on local history and is a trustee of Torquay Museum and a member of Babbacombe and St Mary’s church Local History Society.

Discovering Sharpham Heritage Day

Tuesday 11th September 2018 - 9.30am - 4pm

Find out about Sharpham's history and explore the Grade 1-listed house and gardens at our Discovering Sharpham Heritage day. Join us for a packed day of talks, tours, music and food in the majestic 18th Palladian villa overlooking the River Dart.   Cost £20 for the whole day, including lunch.  Fulld etails on the Sharpham Trust website.

Ashprington & Tuckenhay Commemorative Concert Sunday, 21st October 2018 at 5.00pm

LILY has performed all around the world, enthralling audiences with her original compositions and the Irish jigs and reels, Finnish tangos and Lithuanian dances that she has collected on her travels. She began her career as a child and in her teens performed for the likes of US President Bill Clinton and alongside Irish super-group, The Chieftains.

An evening of exquisite harp music, poetry, commemorative readings and formal tributes to those from our community who lost their lives in service. Community singing led by the Ashprington and Tuckenhay Community Choir
